The first of three concerts sponsored by SCNY and the Stecher and Horowitz Foundation in 2013 featured Agne Radzeviciute, a finalist in the 2012 biennial New York International Piano Competition.
Agne was born in Vilnius, Lithuania in 1992 and began her piano studies at the age of 5. Following her graduation from high school in Lithuania, she came to study at the Manhattan School of Music with Prof. Nina Svetlanova.
She has enjoyed numerous performances at Lithuania’s National Philharmonic Hall as well as venues in France, Switzerland, Russia and the United States.
This concert at Salmagundi was extremely well attended and received. Agne’s program featured works by Schumann, Beethoven, Ciurlionis, Ravel and Scriabin.
Next in this series will be pianist Kate Liu, first prize winner in the 2010 New York International Piano Competition. Postponed because of Hurricane Sandy, the new date is Thursday, February 21st.
