All things creative, sensual and beguiling seemed to have coalesced at our Annual fund raising Library Dinner, hosted by Barbara Genco, on April 29, 2015. The evening began with a viewing of the Salmagundi Club’s Annual Members show in the main gallery and the annual Sylvia Maria Glesmann Floral Exhibition. A Parisian inspired buffet followed, and the evening culminated with a talk by Maureen Gibbon, author of the critically acclaimed “Paris Red,” her most recent novel, published in the U.S. by W.W. Norton. Maureen guided us on a mesmerizing erotic odyssey through the world of Edouard Manet, wherein history excitingly commingled with life, love and imagination.

Apr 23, 2015: New York Mandolin Orchestra
The New York Mandolin Orchestra, beautifully and dramatically conducted by Jefferey Ellenberger at the Salmagundi Club on April 23rd, was a not to be forgotten event. The wonderfully executed classical and popular musical selections, against the background of the dancing colors and shapes of the American Watercolor Societies show, made for a spellbinding experience–another memorable artistic event in Salmagundi’s cultural treasure trove..(many thanks to Annie Shaver-Crandell for making it happen).
